Trust Gul Panag to tie the knot in her own unique, bindaas style. The actress married her friend Rishi Attari in Panchkula, Haryana on March 13, and the wedding had its share of unusual moments.
The Anand Karaj (wedding ceremony) was performed at a gurudwara, followed by a reception at a hotel in Sector 5 in Panchkula, around 10 km from Chandigarh.
Gul, well known for her adventurous lifestyle and tomboyish attitude, chose a unique way to reach the reception venue after the wedding ceremony.
Rishi arrived on a Royal Enfield motorcycle, with Gul sitting in the sidecar.
The marriage procession (baraat) consisted of riders on over 20 Enfield motorcycles, some of which were being driven by women.
Gul, 32, is also an expert bike rider, as was seen in her recent film ’Turning 30’.
The marriage party was a personal affair with only family friends and selected guests being invited.
Rishi works as a pilot in a private airline. He belongs to an Amritsar-based family and is now settled in New Delhi.
Gul, the daughter of a retired lieutenant general, won the Miss India title in 1999 and was also crowned Miss Beautiful Smile at the same pageant.(IANS)
